Greetings on a cloudy and snowy Sunday! I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving and you have a safe and uneventful journey back to campus today. Be careful driving as it is pretty slick! Schedule for this week's lecture and tutorial: Monday: Work session for adsorption homework and MD2 Tuesday: Work session for MD2 or Tutorial 3.  If you wish to work in the lab, you must sign up .  You may also sign up for Thursday morning.  Any other times must be arranged with Joseph . Wednesday: Residual Management Friday: Residual Management I recognize that many of you are also in CE 495 and capstone project reports are due on Tuesday. Given that, if you wish to have until Thursday at 11:59 PM to turn in your MD2 projects , just let me know.   I cannot give extensions beyond that, as we need time to grade the reports and get them back to you. Happy Sunday! I hope you have all had a chance to enjoy the sunshine this weekend! You should have all received the graded rubrics for MiniDesign1. If you have questions, please let me know. This week we will look at distribution systems and corrosion control. I will lecture on Wednesday via Zoom (synchronously) and will record and post the lecture for those of you who are traveling. There will be no participation question this week. There will be no lecture on Tuesday during tutorial. Please use the time to work on MiniDesign2 or Tutorial3 (water treatment plant). If you wish to sign up to use the lab, please do so here .  You may sign up for a morning session (during tutorial) or in the afternoon between 1:30 and 3:30 PM since we do not have ENE 480 lab this week.  I will plan on splitting my time between the classroom (EB 2400) and the ENE lab (EB 3578). MiniDesign2 is due this Wednesday, along with the adsorption homework. If you need the grace period through the break let...

Happy Sunday, I hope all of you are having a relaxing weekend. As stated in the email message, I will hold extra office hours today (Sunday 11/12) from 2-3 PM.  On Friday, I mentioned the catastrophic accident where PBB was added to cattle feed instead of magnesium oxide. More information can be found in this short case study . We will continue studying adsorption processes this week. I have opened the adsorption homework, which is your last homework assignment.  Once we complete adsorption, we will look at residual processing.  Due this week: Tutorial 2: Field Trip discussion. You can submit this in your teams.  It is fine to answer the questions, rather than writing a detailed report.  It will be easier on the graders and hopefully, all of you.  I will do this week's participation question in class. This week's tutorial will serve as a work session for Tutorial 2 and MiniDesign2.  You can also use this time to work in the lab on Tutorial 3, just reme...

November 7 : Teams 11-15 will attend from 10:15-11:15 AM Teams 16-19 will attend from 11:15 AM -12:15 PM. I know this is a bit outside of our regular tutorial time, but I wanted to make sure that all students were able to spend an hour at the plant. Please make sure to bring the tutorial handout so that you gather the information needed to complete the assignment. Please plan to carpool with your team as parking is limited and please arrive approximately 5 minutes early so that each of the groups will have an hour to see the plant. Please check the weather as you will be outside most of the time. Dress appropriately! (Forecast: partly cloudy, 45 degrees). In the off-week, teams should plan to work on the tutorial assignment on field trips and/or MiniDesign2. I will post the guidelines for MiniDesign2 early this...
