Week 8: October 22, 2023
Greetings and Happy Sunday,
I hope all of you are enjoying Fall Break.
I will be away on an ABET accreditation visit through Wednesday of this week.
Dr. Tarabara will lecture in class on Wednesday. He will start the unit on disinfection, which I will then pick up on Friday. Hopefully, my travel is much less eventful than the last trip.
I have opened up the LON-CAPA participation question. It is due October 27th at 11:59 PM. As usual, if you don't want to answer the question, feel free to tell me anything you wish.
If you would like to provide feedback to me as your instructor, feel free to use the mid-semester evaluation. You can use this for any course you have on campus.
On a completely different note:
Dr. Tula Ngasala and I are exploring developing a humanitarian engineering minor for engineering students who aspire to work with communities to co-create sustainable and just solutions to the problems they face.
I am inviting you to participate in a brief survey to help us determine the level of interest among engineering alumni and students regarding the proposed minor in humanitarian engineering and ultimately design a course that meets the College of Engineering at Michigan State University requirements.
This unique training will change the way engineers think about how engineers and scientists define and solve some of our most pressing problems.
Please note that we do NOT collect any email addresses or personally identifiable information from you.
Here are the link to the survey: https://forms.gle/Wb4GeKtHPrdS3V4r6
Thank you in advance for your support!
See you in class on Friday!
All the best,
Dr. Masten
